OCOLOY Day 115: Fairies' Mirror Falls

This is the water fall at the outlet of the lake known as Le Miroir des Fées - the Fairies' Mirror - which stands at the bottom of the Val sans Retour. The Valley of no Return in the Arthur legends is where the fairy Morgane waylaid young men that she then imprisoned so that no others might love them; the lake is so named because it is where Morgane and Viviane sat and regarded their beauty reflected by the still water. In more prosaic terms, this little waterfall powered a small water-mill whose ruined remains were against my back as I took this photo.

As always, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Another BoB image!
Reminds me of Ansel Adams! Beautifully composed.

Rugged looking. I like the story that goes with it.

We must turn water into blood as in the legend , very well in black and white

Dramatic shot, full of speed, grace and texture. Like the water, white cold with speed, rushing down the glen. The veil of foliage adds grace and serenity.
