I seem to favour night-shots at the moment and today is no exception: they are all taken hand-held at 3200 ISO and at f/2.8 or f/2.0 as this one was. This is the fishing harbour at Port Louis on the south coast of Brittany, taken at low-tide tonight. There is also a large commercial and pleasure harbour on the other side of town in the Bay of Lorient but I like this one best as it hasn't changed much since the early 19thC.
As usual, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
@laroque Hi Tim. Yes it was taken at 10.57pm and no, there wasn't a full-moon... in fact, there was no moon at all. The only light is the light that you see in the image - the four street lights on the harbour wall which you can also see reflected in the wet sand. The photo was exposed at ISO 3200, f/2.0 at 1/20 sec hand-held.
I've been very impressed with just how far you can push the ISO on the X100S/T. I guess that may be the case with the latest sensors for many cameras or do you find Fuji a strong performer in this regard?
@jasperc You can push the ISO quite hard on F/F cameras I find but Fuji is the best of the APS-C sensors I think... the new 24MP sensor in the X-Pro2 is reputed to be phenomenal for low-light performance. We need to start saving up for the X200!
Nice shot! Love the light! The band of clouds and the water line help to keep the eye flowing amongst the lit buildings, which draw the eye back and forth :)
