This is the church of Saint-Pierre in the centre of the small town of Gaël in central Brittany pictured from across the fields. I deliberated between this view showing the foreground in sunshine and a second shot with all the foreground in shadow but with less surrounding foliage... in the event, I went with this.
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
@frankhymus Thank you Frank: for interest, the raw file had a full range of tones and lots of shadow detail with no blocking but I actually prefer this high contrast version... even though I didn't have a choice!
Lovely framing and leading line. I would have franed it to exclude the lighter space in the foreground before the shadows... but your version works so well! I'm interested in your ocoloy project and what you do with a wider angle lens as I have access to a 23mm lens and I'm enjoying the challenge of what to do with all that extra space! So, I'm following you!
