I saw a rhododendron with very well developed buds - it will all end in tears! Lovely huge leaf - I've been clearing them this week, and I must say, they are easy to pick up.
@anniesue Hmmm,bit of an optical illusion I think Annie-Sue, this is a Magnolia tree so leaves are not quite as big as this seems!! Another reason why I was so surprised to see the bud - Magnolias like warmth
I'm quite certain that i learned in some book or another that buds are set in the fall. I guess we just have to trust that they know (more or less) what they are doing.
