Is that a Crocothemis erythraea, which according to my book of insects is the reddest of all the European dragonflies? And, it is the male!! Nicely captured although the eye is a tad soft. You could run it through either Nik or Topaz plugins to see if it would enhance it a bit more. Nevertheless, I would be more than happy to have got this photo! It is sometimes called the Scarlet Dragonfly or the Scarlet Dancer!
