A bit out of my comfort zone for this shot -- I've always admired people who can take great photos of trees, but have never managed it myself. I think this is probably my best effort for a while, but I'm still not sure if it really works.
This was taken near the lodge in Zion National Park. The cottonwoods run all the way along the banks of the Virgin River and have really dark, shiny leaves that seem to sparkle in the sunlight.
I've applied a slight soft focus effect to the leaves in post-processing to bring out the sparkle.
