Today was Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk, where thousands of photographers go on local photowalks and upload the results.
I went along to a walk organised by a friend in Gastown. The weather had been miserable all day, so to make sure it stopped raining, I took my rain hood and only my Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 lens (as it has no electronics in it). Sure enough, that was enough to make sure the rain stopped!
On the plus side, it got me to use my new lens more than I otherwise would have done. It continues to impress me with its sharpness and ease of focus, although it does suffer from flare and chromatic aberration - not surprising since it's not multi-coated.
This is a vaguely abstract shot of a tree in the centre of a semi-circular bench outside the old Woodwards building. The uplighting really made the tree trunk stand out against the background, and the lens picked out the texture in the bark.
I'm a British software developer and photographer living in Vancouver, BC. I mainly photograph landscapes, cityscapes, night scenes, and water.
