I'm absolutely falling in love with the quality of the starbursts the 16-35mm lens generates when stopped down. The 7-bladed iris produces 14-point starbursts, which is a great feature on its own, but their just so pretty from this lens in particular. My only problem is that I'm tending to get carried away!
Tonight was a photowalk along Granville Street. Despite the weather forecast predicting heavy rain, actually, the weather couldn't have been much better -- wonderful wet streets to reflect the lights and bring out the colours, not a drop of rain actually falling, an even some moody clouds in the distance!
I'm also thrilled with the colours and dynamic range of the new camera. There's just so much detail available in the RAW files. I actually had to desaturate this image slightly, which for me is absolutely unheard of!
Worth viewing large (I know, I say that all the time!), if only to spot the suspended traffic cone.

this is spectacular! i would love to do work like this......you are right about the starbursts....they are great....especially in a line like that - - a fav for me!
Beautiful lights - love that starburst effect! I also love catching the neon lights and traffic on Granville Street when the streets and sidewalks are wet (or just enjoying them on an evening stroll).
Took me a few seconds to find the cone. ;)
