Emerging into the Night by abirkill

Emerging into the Night

Another shot from yesterday evening's photowalk. This is the entrance and exit to the Granville Street Skytrain station, which emerges at the junction of Granville and W Georgia, one of the busiest intersections in Vancouver.

Through the windows on the sides can be seen part of the Pacific Centre mall, on the left, and the recently renovated Hudson's Bay Company building, on the right.

Four shot HDR image taken through glass. I used a relatively wide aperture to reduce the amount that the glare on the window showed up, while still keeping the important details in focus. The hardest part was getting four shots with nobody on the stairs or escalators!
Nicely balanced, great geometry! I like how the black and white brings out the lines and contrasts.

Great technique. I theoretically know how to do this, and now you have pushed me to go try it in practice. This is getting a bit of a broken record, but favorite again.
