Countryside Caravan Carnage by ajisaac

Countryside Caravan Carnage

I am sure most peoples idea of having a caravan in the countryside is not portrayed in this image!!!

Unfortunately some people for various reasons cannot afford to keep their caravans on the road and in good order and they either get dumped somewhere 'out the way' or are left to disintegrate in 'plain sight'

I came across this one today on a back country lane near Goatacre, Lyneham. It has been here at least 7 years!!! How do I know? I've just looked on google earth at this area and it hasn't been visited by the Google Van since May 2009!!! (Google maps do have some use).

I expect it will be just left to 'die'. So much for the summer holidays!!!
What a sad sight, sad for a once loved caravan and ultra sad for what this kind of dumping does to the environment. Good capture though.

This is a very cool image and I really like your color tone. However, I hate seeing abandoned structures littering beautiful landscapes. This is a photo with a message: Keep countrysides clean and litter free. Fav

So sad. Being a caravan owner, this is mind boggling for me. Why do they not sell it while iit's still in reasonable condition? I have seen quite a few like this in Australia too, and always wonder why they are just left like that.

But anyway....it's a great shot!

@judithdeacon I couldn't agree more with your comments-sad and having a impact on our environment.

@leggzy Yes-mind boggling it is, I cannot image that the once owners were proper 'caravaneers' because they would have never let the caravan get in such a state and would have sold in on while it's still ok.

Seems to me it is part of the 'throwaway culture' that plagues our society and is becoming more endemic.

Glad you like my shot too.

I like the grungy processing, very apt considering the subject matter

@theboxmanreturns Thanks very much-yes I 'grunged' it up a bit for the subject matter.

The barren, bleak sky completely matches the mood of the subject. Nice.
