Despite me thinking we have had plenty of rain for December and January this dry river bed in the village of Chitterne tells me otherwise.
Usually this river is full in the winter season due to the chalky hills surrounding it, where the water from the hills around seep down through the chalk and flow along this river bed.
In years past the village has suffered heavy flooding but not this year.
