The old and the new

While walking through the city centre to get to the register office I spotted this scene of the Hall of Memory (foreground) and the brand new Library of Birmingham in the background. I like the contrasts :)
Well spotted- there is really a very distinct contrast with the older building and the ultra modern library. Good shot.

I remember passing the hall of memory on the bus with my Nan.. I asked "if I forgot something and went there would I remember it?" she said 'yes dear' so I guess she wasn't really listening. The new library looks amazing, such contrasts indeed

Great shot, Alia! What a great comparison and yes, they contrast each other quite well. It's almost like an "out with the old and in with the new" kind of thing. I like the older building far better than the new one. It looks like it has so much history in it. Well done :)

Love the composition of this shot, the different shapes, and the contrast between the two buildings.
