This ended up becoming one of today's pictures due to an accident. About 20 minutes later, I was out with my camera when a student, unbeknownst to me, dumped her backpack right behind me. I turned around and tripped unceremoniously. The whole time I was falling I kept thinking, "Not my camera!" Well, fortunately it wasn't my camera, but my foot is pretty messed up, and all my hopes of getting lots of pictures at today's pep rally, were dashed.
This big spider was resting quietly im the middle of her web until she caught sight of me. Then she pulled in all her extremities as if she could somehow become invisible. Not the best picture but my camera was having a hard time figuring out what to focus on. How do you trick it into selecting the web and not the background?
Nice capture of the spider-blob! I have trouble with focussing on webs too. If I can I try to change the angle so the web is very well lit, but that's about my only tip! I hope your foot is ok!
I hope your foot heels soon. Untimely accident and one never knows when they will happen, that's for sure! Actually I think you did well with this shot. I got a good web shot several months ago and have never been able to accomplish it since. I wish I would have copied down what I did ;-) Nice detail on his face....cute expression. And you did well with the DOF.
So sorry for the mishap..your sound worse than what happened to me when I misstepped because someone put something on the step which I didn't see and bumped with my ankle on..badly swollen..exrays and all
swelling hasn't come down in weeks if it ever will. I've never ever had to use crutches..my husband has and it looks difficult to me..I hope you'll mend soon.
@bruni I am so sorry your swelling hasn't reduced. Our bodies usually work so well, we take them for granted. When they finally fail us, we begin to appreciate the miracle of their construction.
