In the past John and I have tried our hand at shaping this dogwood, but our lack of skill became apparent almost immediately. In contrast Mike Hall is a trained arborist who knows what he is doing. He gave our tree a clean bill of health and then preceded to give it the best kind of trim -- the kind where you don't notice there was a trim at all.
