The loneliness of the long distance runner

Just trying things again so feel free to offer critique! I tried panning and also having a focused background with a moving runner but I liked this shot best even though everything is moving. I think it;s partly because panning slightly with the runner maintained a definite body shape whereas a sharp background and moving runner had the figure not even appearing human. Of course, I could have used a slightly faster shutter speed but I ran out of runners before I got around to that!
I think this works well as an abstract but you can still clearly see it's a runner. It's always good to play and experiment, I have had some happy accidents that turned out really ok (without quite knowing what I'd done!)

I love this it is very creative and gives a sense of speed. This could double as a ghost shot too.

@jackie8 @onewing @lafish Aww, thanks, ladies! Neil looked at it and didin't like it- he said there was too much movement on the runner but as Jackie says, we hasve to keep trying new things to move forward and I'm glad at least some of you think it has merit. Keep on shooting girls!

I really like this - pushing the rules is the way to learn new skills and effects!!
