White Turtlehead by annepann

White Turtlehead

Can you see the turtles and why the common name is Turtlehead? I was pleased to find this native wildflower growing in a wet ditch today. The flowers are pretty big. Snapdragon family. Scientific name is Chelone glabra.
You are definitely finding some I've never seen before. This is really unusual - with, of course, your wonderful focus

My mother has a large patch of them in her garden in pink. The deer mowed all of the buds earlier in the season but they are coming back now with buds for round 2.

@falcon11 I thought the deer had taken down all my new england aster buds this year, but they are starting to bloom now. They got all the hosta and day lily flowers though.
