GDPR

Today, May 25th, marks the first day of enforcement for Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - which is a huge milestone for me since I'm working as an IT and Data Security Consultant in the IT-department placed under the The Department of Care for the Elderly and Disabled in Aalborg Municipality.

We have put in a lot of work in getting ready to be GDPR compliant, so my boss wanted to mark the day by inviting us all for a lovely piece of "kagemand". "Kagemand" is a traditional Danish sweet cake which is often served on birthdays or similar celebrations. Kagemand is always served decorated with lots of candy or fruit, icing, marzipan and tiny Danish flags, and sometimes even whipped cream. It's really yummy...

A bit about the Danish kagemand tradition:
In Denmark, kids celebrate their birthdays with a cake in a shape of a girl/woman or a boy/man - this kind of cake is called a "kagemand" (in English "cake man"). Tradition says that when you start cutting the cake you must start with cutting off the head - and all the guests scream while the head is being cut of... trust me - such an even can get really noisy :-D... This tradition probably sounds really weird to anyone not familiar with Danish traditions - but the cake tastes really great... in fact I wish I could have a slice right now...!

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to M4/3 Adapter + Helios 44-2 f2/58mm.
what a wonderful tradition and thank you for sharing the story about your work and GDPR.
