The land around where I live is clay and does not drain very well so the dairy cows are hosed in the winter. When the grass starts to grow and it is dry enough for a tractor to go on it some of the grass cut and fed to the cows. This is the cutting in process.
A good crop there Rob! Zero grazing keeps the grass nice & clean but I do like to see cows outside, less & less these days plus they are easier inside arent they?
@happypat They go out here as soon as the ground is ok in the day at first until it warms up at night. It reduces the workload when they are out - here anyway. If you have a very modern set-up then I can see it would be easier to manage them when they are inside. But like you say it's so much nicer to see them out especially on lovey summers evenings.
