not the proverbial one, the literal one.
this is a beautiful blown glass ceiling by dale chihuly at the oklahoma city museum of art. this is an old photo, but i'm in the process of transferring all of my data to my new computer (a mac! yay!) and all i have access to right now are my iphone pics. and i have had WAY too much going on with my volunteer position at school, among other things, to take a photo today. i guess you could say i hit a wall. or a ceiling.
i've missed seeing all my 365 friends' photos--it's my intention to get all caught up tomorrow.
Thanks for the encouragement Brett, I need it. I was just in there this morning for coffee & bagels and he knows me by name, always asks how I am doing, why am I so chicken?
Oh I forgot to mention....I love Dale Chihuly, I first saw his stuff on the ceiling of the Bellagio, took a photo of it and became a fan. This is gorgeous.
Hi Brett, So glad you are enjoying the book. I have to admit that since reading the book l am always looking at the sky, hence, some of my pics! It's nice to look in and see the pics without having the need to comment on everyone's. My wife is glad to 'have me back'! Have a great weekend.
This looks like ribbon candy and old-fashioned blown glass dishes...isn't it just wonderful?! I'm delighted you decided to share this photo with us; it's beautiful! And speaking of *beautiful*, that was such a sweet birthday message, and such amazing outpouring from this 365 community! I'd already had such a wonderful day & birthday dinner when I came to the computer before bed-time. What a surprise that Slava set in motion; I loved hearing from the community and my special sister-friends! Thanks for putting a wide smile on my face and making the day so exceptional!
LOVE Chihuly's work and you've captured it nicely :) Last week, when I spent the day at the conservatory where I took my sunflower picture, I sat by a pong filled not only with koi, but some permanent pieces from a Chihuly exhibition several years ago. They are such lovely organic forms.
Great shot, and congratulations on your new Mac. And by the way, The Awakening is also in Chesterfield, Missouri, and is just a bit smaller than the one in Maryland.
