my eldest and his buddy are a couple of mountain men. they love to be outside, find adventure, and fancy themselves quite the survivalists. the other night they made a campsite on the back porch, complete with sleeping bags, hot cocoa, a guitar, and a blazing fire. oh, and a big screen tv (i guess what it takes to survive is subjective...)
okay, we didn't let them sleep out there all night. i'm sure some people will think we are good parents for making them come in. and some will think we are bad parents for not letting them stay.
you're right. (:
@nikkers oh, i hardly could stand it out there in the cold to take the photo!! and had dad been willing to 'rough it' with them, i'd have let them stay for sure! but it was too cold for the old man...
I am on my bed, with heat pad on , woolly socks, and a doubled over feather duvet,, and shopping online for fingerless gloves...lol
Avery wanted to go outside and ride his bike today,,,, was no way I was going out,, my thermals were in the wash,,, lol
@nikkers ha!! that made me laugh!!
and i found some fingerless gloves online at jcrew. and another treat--a cashmere hand warmer at restoration hardware. for us dainty, fragile girls!
Brett, welcome aboard, hope you have time to look back on some of my photos to see some of what the St Lawrence River is about.
as far as this shot, I say oh to be young again this looks like a good time @nikkers do you have to pay full price for the fingerless gloves, seeing how the fingers are missing :)
