Sorry, I had to resort to the spider shot! I was doing some gardening and putting the rubbish in the bin when this guy was staring back at me from the pieces I had just placed. I'm glad he didn't run up my arm because it would have freaked me out... seriously! But he behaved while I did a little photo shoot turning him this way and that... had to get some nice light on his face with a nice background.
OMG that is waaaayyyy to scary - you are very brave and I'm surprised that you just didn't drop your camera and run like mad. I certainly would have!!! An awesome close up but I'm glad that it is you and not me!!
@nicolecampbell Yeah, sorry Nicole, he's a little bit too close.
@karlow75 I don't mind them if they keep their distance. My friend's daughter had one thrown down her school uniform by some naughty boys... she ended up in hospital because it bit her and she had some kind of reaction to it.
@gigiflower If it had jumped on me that's what would have happened, lol.
Fantastic detail. I missed a photo opportunity a few nights ago when David coaxed a huntsman, which was on our bedroom wall, into a bucket. I won't kill huntsman spiders, so it was just evacuated outside, but I wasn't going to share the bedroom with it just in case it wandered across my face while I was asleep, ha ha.
@onewing Yes, I won't kill them either and I had thrown this fellow in the bin. I didn't want him squashed and killed so I pulled out the stalk he was on and threw it back in the garden. I was freaking out a little though because he kept wanting to climb up the stalk which would have lead to my hand. Just the thought of one running across my face is bad enough.
Oh my gosh...the detail is amazing. That face is incredible. I deal with spiders much differently since 365...I still don't like them, but look at that FACE! Very cool macro. FAV
Such a cooperative creature, to stay put and pose while you took his picture. Maybe that was his way of saying thanks for not throwing him out with the trash. Super macro shot of his features. (Those are some serious spikes on his legs.)
@francoise I can't believe it took my grandson to notice he only had one leg on one side. When I was taking the photo I was just concentrating on getting his face sharp. He was getting around pretty good though.

Another one to Google.
