Thistle?

I'm not sure what these flowers are but they remind me of thistle.

Super close up and gorgeous colours. I think Chantal is right they do look like Eryngium, we used to call them sea holly when we were kids.

@777margo Yes, they really are blue, I haven't enhanced the colour at all but adding black always seems to increase the colour a little. It's pretty true to colour though.
