We have just returned from a trip to western Queensland. It was a long drive and a lot of it on unsealed roads. This guy happily sat in the tree until I got a bit too close for comfort. I was happy to catch him fly off.
You bugger. One of my goals on the central oz trip was to get a good capture of a wedge tail in flight. I had one chance and stuffed it completely. This is a beauty Sheralee
@terryliv Thanks Poppo! When you go next year maybe you will catch one then because we saw quite a few. I have another shot from not far up the road but he wasn't as close as this guy.
What a magnificent bird! Lovely, how you caught him immediately upon takeoff... his talons are dangling behind. I adore his fierce expression... super shot.
