Day 353 - Today we had a walk around Chilham village and after an interesting walk around the church of St. Mary’s we ended up in Shelley's Tea room for a delicious cream tea.
The Church, which is dedicated to St. Mary, is a lovely building consisting of a main body and two aisles and is surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows. The bell tower built in 1534 reaches 68 feet in height and houses a belfry with six bells and a Dover clock. Parts of this beautiful church date from the 13th Century. It is large for the size of the village, with some significant monuments; both of these features relate to its association with Chilham Castle.

Thank you all for the lovely comments. I was so pleased we were able to go into the church this time, last time we visited Chilham the church was closed to visitors due to a service taking place
