A mad dash to Essex! by bigmxx

A mad dash to Essex!

Day 289 - Today we were in the middle of some woods when I got a message from my daughter saying Essex was going into tier 2 and we needed to go 'now' if we wanted to see them. I live in Kent and my daughter lives in Essex so as from Saturday I can't go and see my twin Granddaughter's, my heart is broken all over again, during the first lockdown we missed so much of their 'firsts' I've only just got use to being in their lives again :(
So glad you could get over there. I hate that we have been put into a pre-emptive Tier 2. We don't have high infection rates here at all, it's the council's idea as a pre-emptive strike. Horrible. So I join you in your hopes that it will not last long and then you can see them again. Big love to you xxxx

I really share your sadness Michelle. My youngest granddaughter is about the same age as your little twins and I’ve only seen her once since Christmas. It really is heartbreaking. I’m so pleased you got to see them again.

They are beautiful. I hope you can FaceTime them or use one of the video chat apps during these hard times!

My heart goes out to you, at least you got to see them once more. These sad times for all will probably stay with us for quite a while. Such adorable little girls.

Such a difficult time for everyone. So glad you made it before the next restrictions come into place. What gorgeous little poppets!

unfortunately it is a difficult time for everyone, we hope it ends as soon as possible so that you can hold them and follow them

@casablanca What's hard is we sometimes go and sit with them while she goes shopping, but she can't class as childcare givers as her mother-in-law had them on a Wednesday so is classed as the childcare bubble
@susiemc That's so sad for you, only during lockdown did I not see them, we managed to do a daily Skype but she's back at work now so I go days without seeing the babies
@marlboromaam Fingers crossed if the idiots would just abide by the rules - I work in a hospital and for a number of weeks we haven't had any cases in but now we have 2 again
@louannwarren We managed to Skype everyday before, but it won't be so easy now as my daughter has gone back to work
@ludwigsdiana I can see it being around for ages as people are just not adhering to the rules of social distancing
@busylady It was lucky I wasn't working otherwise I wouldn't have been able to go
@monicac It was rather a mad dash
@santina I feel for anyone that has new Grandchildren, it must be awful not to be able to hold them
@boxplayer Thank you
Thank you everyone for the lovely messages, they are a couple of characters and make me smile with their antics, thank god for Skype as I can still make a fool of myself to make them laugh X
