Desperate Dan and his dog, followed by Minnie the Minx are immortalised in Dundee……. heroes of two children’s comics, the Dandy and the Beano, produced and printed in the city.
I had a day visit to Dundee some years ago when there were ultra cheap rail promotion fares, and this sculpture was one of the finds that I really enjoyed while exploring. It was a long day and a very late return to York, but well worth it to visit somehere I had never been before. I really like this shot!
@fishers Dundee has changed massively over recent years. It is very popular with Scottish photographers with the V&A, the new waterfront development and of course the railway and road bridges crossing the river Tay. Come back sometime!
I've just checked my photo archive and it was way back in 2009 when I visited, and at the time there was a lot of redevelopment in progress. I did promise myself that I would try and visit again after a few years to see the results of the changes, but that hasn't happened yet. One of these years!
