A Stitch In Time Saves Nine

Sorry I haven't been commenting lately but I have been very busy clearing up a flood we had on Wednesday 30th. The pipe came off our drinking water tap during the night. Noticed both clocks had got off nudged hubby so he went and investigated.... he then shouted up we are flooded...The pipe had come off our drinking water tap.... the kitchen was flooded and the water also was coming through the ceiling into the utility room and study, luckily my sewing room was fine.
Mopping up water in the utility it was still like raining on me. Had to pull the carpet up in the study as it certainly wasn't going to dry out ...did vac it a lot but obviously a lot more water than we thought! And best way of getting rid of it we thought was thought the window ..... of which hit the light which then fell on my head!
I had to strip the walls and ceiling in the utility room.
So have also been busy shopping...
A wooden floor for the study..which we wanted to do anyway. And well the utility room was in need of re-decorating so just had to get on with it a little earlier than we planned but as mum always says
" These things are sent to try us!"
So now looking forward to decorating but during the next three weeks I have time to prepare the walls paintwork ...

Three good things;
1. Wooden flooring ordered for study and also
tiles for utility room due to be delivered in three weeks time as special order.
2. Seems to be drying out
3. Ikea shopping list made up
love the simplicity of this....fav

Love this shot, love the monotone. You certainly got a mess, I am so sorry. It sounds like you have a plan of attack and are getting things in order so that is good.

Goodness what a nightmare.......looking at it in a few weeks you might be glad you were forced into doing improvements sooner than planned...lots of hard work ahead! Bad luck!

This is really creative and amazing. Who would have thought a needle and thread would make a good shot. But then not everyone could do a lovely as you did!
