Have you ever seen a Cork Tree before?? Well, now you have. (Quercus suber) Touching it made me want to drink wine. (hmmm...I wonder why. Where have I felt cork before?)
These trees are fire-resistant and apparently, the more fires they survive, the odder their shape becomes. This one looks like it has had an interesting life !
I'm lucky because I can see these trees every day in the region where I live. They are a species with very interesting characteristics.
I started the year 2022 here at 365 with a photo of one of them, https://365project.org/antonios/365/2022-01-01 but here it is already after the bark has been removed to be transformed into cork stoppers and other applications.
