Covering 16,283 acres (25.5 sq. miles), South Mountain Park is the largest urban park in the U.S. Unfortunately, urban sprawl hems it in at all sides and a newly opened freeway now cuts through its southern edge. Nevertheless, it still is an amazing place to stretch out one's legs. This is a view of the trail I hiked on to get to where I snapped this picture.
