Local transport

This is my first posting for the b&w-bookclub! I've been reading Katies blog and i'm pretty excited. Also really thankful to be able to take part. So thank you Katie for being so inspiring and organised!!

About this photo. I work on the city fringe in Auckland - which is an interesting part of town - mixture of inner(ish) city dwellers with a range of business ventures. These days much of the housing is apartment style - but in this area there remains a few old character cottages sandwiched between more modern buildings and the odd fall down shack.

I spotted this scooter today on my lunchtime walk. This cottage had it's owners scooter parked on the front porch. A strong testament to the lifestyle of its occupants.

Its not a Vesper!! but none the less a cool scooter!
I think it really suits the style of black and white - focusing on the object - without the distraction of the paintwork etc. I also like the strong lines in contrast with the more flowing lines of the scooter.
This is fabulous. The contrasts are great and doesn't B&W concentrate your view on the subjet

I like the contrast and a good story behind it. At least the parking fees wouldn't be too high.
