Whero O Te Rangi Bailey

Whero O Te Rangi Bailey, Kuia (maori female elder) from Parihaka in Taranki, originally photographed by Stu Robertson for his Peace in 10000 Hands project.

Street artist Kevin Ledo recreated Stu's original photograph), and this beautiful work can be found in Christchurch - I spotted this during a visit in 2021.

New Zealand photographer Stuart Robertson created Peace in 10,000 Hands as a global project to challenge and reinvigorate the international conversation for peace. His goal is to capture profound images of an ancient and timeless symbol for Peace, a single white rose, held in the hands of 10,000 people from every country and every walk of life on the planet.

This is lovely. We stayed in a hotel in Christchurch earlier last year that seemed to have a lot of artwork after this theme.
