Okay, how many of you Ladies had a Barbie when young? This is my wife's, probably from the 60's. there are dates stamped in the ski box, 1965. Her hair is a mess lol. If you still have one would like to see a capture of it or even a new granddaughters one etc. Me, I still have and collect Matchbox and Hot Wheel cars.. guess I still have a touch of childhood in me at 60!! I feel a new project coming on...Barbie tours the area. Stay tuned for her adventures!!
Ah, a reason to get the Barbies out of the back of the closet! As soon as time allows, I'd love to get some captures of mine from the late 50s to early 60s!
My granddaughter played with the matchbox cars I'd saved from her mom's days (boys weren't the only ones to keep cars) and I expect her child to enjoy them, too. Still have them. Don't have any of the Barbies any more though.
Oh how I loved my Barbie. I had one of the originals...the only ones with holes in their feet so their shoes would stay on. Will have to dig it out...I am sure her hair is messy too
Oh wow. How lovely. I had a Cindy though ... Cindy was slightly less skinny than Barbie! How I loved her, but sadly I have her no longer. My favourite outfit for her, which I remember so well, was a bordeaux ball gown with black lace. Cindy's man was Action Man, whilst Barbie was more associated with Ken, wasn't she? Makes me wonder if Cindy was the UK version of Barbie? Not sure.
I think every woman "of a certain age" had/played with Barbie. I played with mine until I was WAY too old for it by todays's standards I'm sure.
But I'm not a saver, and since I had 4 younger sisters, I'm sure any toy I had didn't survive.
What a great keepsake to have. Very nice shot. We've had Barbies but the only one around here now is one we got my granddaughter to play with when she visits.
