Sunbather by brotherone

Sunbather

My brother Joe came to visit tonight, I haven't seen him in over two years. That is hard to fathom, since there was a time when we saw each other every day. Last night we experienced the strongest rain storm I have seen in a very long time. There was rain again this afternoon but the morning was sunny and evoked the brilliant tropical colors. I wish I could have gotten closer for this shot. I was lugging the camera with a heavy 90mm lens around, along with some groceries and every time I needed to take a shot I had to put the bag down and my ear buds fell out, thankfully not into a storm drain. It was nice to listen to some great bootleg Paul McCartney as I walked. It is odd to see people dressed in beach garb and Covid masks. The lens is probably 30 years old, but it renders deep colors without acute sharpness - oddly, I am not a fan of razor sharp images or perfect exposures. This year has been a blur, and it fits my view of things that moments in time are depicted equivalently. I love to experience the character of older lenses employed using modern cameras - going back in time in this way brings senses of stability and purpose. The process of manual focusing and manual exposure sends fears and anxiety to the mind's cast away bin.
Gorgeous scene and amazing color!

@domenicododaro The Summicron 90 is a wonderful lens. I am glad I took it with me....Been using mostly the 28mm. The weather here is beautiful. It is an interesting place to people watch. The most interesting person I saw today had a pink hibiscus matching beach outfit with a pink hat to match also. Of course sparkling white "kicks", gold rimmed sunglasses at tattoos. Unfortunately no camera on hand, and it might have been a risky shot to attempt!
