If you have an old lens with dried grease, making the barrel difficult to turn, try this. Put the lens into a Tupperware tub and saturate a cotton ball with naphtha (lighter fluid). Leave the lens overnight. It worked wonders for this beautiful old Nikon lens. It was impossibly frozen beforehand.
