A strange choice of photo for today as there were so many others that I could have used instead. However, I wanted to include this one as Turkey's get a bit of a raw deal.
We decided to visit the Cotswolds Wildlife Park today. Something that the kids can enjoy without having to do too much walking. Truth be told, I really wanted to visit one of the villages that I've read so many good things about. I'm a city girl and not really prone to visit the countryside that much so I was really looking forward to doing a bit of hiking and taking loads of photos of thatched cottages, village streets and miles and miles of green fields. But alas, this was not to be.
After going through my photo reel I came across various photos of the kids, a close up of a cow, a rhino cropped off the top and left of the shot, and this turkey. Yes, they aren't pretty. When you see the almost brain like crest of their heads and the ruched neckline with the hanging giblet it does tend to put you off but...there is beauty in this bird aplenty. This one in particular was displaying it's feathers and they are beautiful and intricate. They reminded me of the Christmas decorations from my youth. The ones that are made of paper and you unfold them to make a 3d hanging lantern-esque shape. Really quite intricate. So hear hear for the turkey. I won't eat you as I really do prefer chicken.
