Black currant waiting for sunshine

In the fall of 2018 we came across two houses which were in the process of being demolished. we kept an eye on them as they were next to a small plaza where our favorite market is located. when cleared of all debris, we stopped there again and Hans went to look around the empty lot. that time he found a small black currant bush. it would have been destroyed when they started the foundation for the new mall extension and so he went for his shuffle in the van and dug up the bush. we planted it in our garden at the back of the house. last year we had only a handful of berries. this year it looks more promising.
This is lovely, Bruni.

The plants look quite healthy. It's so satisfying to harvest fruit and vegetables from our own garden.
