Our cat Claire is rather temperamental. She loves to be held, and petted .... On her own terms. Depending on her mood she might cuddle next to you and purr ... or take off to avoid you if she thinks you might want to pet her.And then there's the sneak attack - when you least expect it she might run out to startle and/or attack your leg. Like when I'm walking downstairs with a basket full of laundry.

Oh well, we still love her.
