Sitting amongst towering high rises in the heart of downtown Vancouver these four wonderfully restored heritage houses built in the mid 1890’s are classic examples of the Queen Anne style that predominated in Vancouver in the late 1800’s. Most of our heritage has sadly been demolished to make way for soulless cement high rise apartments and office blocks. This tiny cluster is the only remaining group of houses that demonstrate Victorian era development.
It is truly horrible that so many of these wonderful structures have been demolished, but how wonderful that a few still survive. They truly are charming!
Beautiful colours and architecture. At least you have some interesting modern architecture in Vancouver. Our modern buildings are little more than concrete boxes stacked on top of each other.
