Pebble beach by chimfa

Pebble beach

There are sandy beaches everywhere here. Tonight we went out to dinner opposite this beach. The sun was setting to the right and I realised the stones might look good. Taken upside down again Babs there's a larger stone top right and another slightly lower left. This must sound rubbish to everyone else!
I have often wondered - if sandy beaches are just pebble beaches that have been ground down by the sea in to sand - at some distant time will there be no pebble beaches any more? Nice shapes and shaddows by the way

@scarybird thanks. My friends thought I was crazy taking the photo! Not sure I'll be around when it's all sand!

This makes a lot of sense to me. I had noticed that when I click on your pictures to enlarge them they're then upside down, except the last few, but I have no idea why. What you're doing is working however. Nice photo btw. I like the light on the pebbles.

Yes, this is the right way up too now Jane. I think we are cooking with gas! Welcome to the strange looks from people club. Since joining 365 I have had really odd looks and comments from people who don't get the point of what I am taking a photo of. ha ha.

This photo has taken me back to Cyprus and the beach at Curium. Zoe used to collect favourite stones and because she collected so many each time we went out she had a plastic bag to collect them in. As the bag got heavy it dragged on the ground and before she realized, there was a hole in the bag. Of course, some of the stones fell straight through the hole. She cried when she realized what had happened and asked me to help her find her favourite stones. I said "I can't help you find them because I don't know which are your favourite". She thought about it for a minute and said "One was a red one".
It is good to have happy memories.
Just got your email and the photos, thanks.
