He was happy to oblige.

There is always a line of " black" Moors. This chap was very happy to pose for me.
Great outfit!

I have gone through your recent shots about the parade. It's just like carnival with marvellous costumes. I have read so much about Moors before we took our Easter holiday in Andalusia and having seen the architecture I think they were very intelligent people. Malta was also occupied for around 200 years by Moors until the 11th century - we have little to show for that period. This is one lovely capture and I'm sure Moors weren't dressed like that then.

@sangwann There are lots of street names in this area that are Moorish. We live in Benisili and there are dozens of "beni..." I'm told it means " son of" many of the churches were once mosques too. The parades are all about driving the Moors out of Spain . We have a battle on the Friday night on the beach where the Moores come in by boat and capture the castle. Then on Saturday the Christians win it back again . The main parade is on Sunday. The difference between this area and Andalusia is in the Spanish costumes. Flamenco in the south and those here are the brocade dresses with the " doughnut" hairstyles and gold jewellery. The different regions are very different! I glad you enjoyed your holiday. We had a super time in Malta too!
