Gosh, I’ve never seen a cork tree. That’s amazing. I guess the bark is the cork and that’s why it’s been removed. 365 is so educational 😀

@helenhall @onewing @happysnaps @susiemc if you google " harvesting cork" a whole heap of info comes up.The trees are harvested every 7 years . This gives them time to recover.It doesn't harm them, These trees had only just been harvested, hence the light colouring. We saw some where the trunk was darker in the areas where the bark had been previously cut. .
