Old Towne Creek, Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, Charleston, SC
This is the creek and site where the first English settlers in South Carolina established a small town in 1670, that later would be come the town and city of Charleston. The original settlement was relocated a few miles away at Oyster Point where the Ashley and Cooper rivers join at Charleston Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean.
