Fragrant 4 o'clocks in bloom along Queen Street, Charleston, SC

4 o'clocks have an incredibly powerful effect on my memories of New Orleans, my hometown. I can remember the scent of this flower wafting through the air on even relatively still summer evenings. It reminds me of the verdant beauty of that old city by the Mississippi River.
