The sign is still up on the magnificent Art Deco building that formerly housed the S.H. Kress 5&10 cent store on King Street in Charleston. There was a big Woolworth's nearby also. Those were the days. How I loved those dime stores as a kid and well into my adult years before they all disappeared. The Woolworth on King Street lasted until about 1996 or 1997. It had a huge and busy lunch counter also. I wish now I had eaten there more often. I remember the one on Canal Street in New Orleans when I was a kid.
