Live oaks are so beautiful! When we lived in Florida, I saw some live oaks whose branches were so old and heavy that people had placed carvings underneath them to hold the branches up ...It was amazing! Your photo shows how dreamy and awesome they can be!

The oaks are enormous there. Love this one. We are in so much trouble here with lack of rain, none in our forecast again, gusting winds today and tomorrow and back up to the 80's. I wish someone would decide to do something to help or fix this problem but so far lots of meetings about our drought. FAV

@darsphotos I have been reading about the drought there and can only hope and pray you get reief in your thirsty state. The new reality is that climate change is making for a hotter and drier West and we must develop strategies to help the affected states cope with these changes, particularly in years to come.

@congaree John, It is amazing that all know about the drought though no plan is in place to fix our problem. They say to conserve (which we do inside our home) and we are on odd/even days to water and allowed 3 days a week to do so (I choose 2 days a week, 5 minutes). They say our agriculture is 80% of our water needs. Some say they can see this going on for years to come. They are building, not sure if any are complete, desalinization plants (not sure of spelling?). San Diego is the first to start this process that I know of and using the ocean water. Super expensive to do but we need water. After all they spend so much money on so many unnecessary things. You are right, I have friends and family in Oregon and Washington and they are not getting the rain and snow that they used to get either. There are people shown on our news that have developed at home rain catchers and last week when it rained those accumulated so much water for watering their gardens/yards for months to come. Some use their washing machine water as well though that comes with a price as well. In the end if they would lower the cost of water rather than to increase it constantly we could all pay towards something like instead of paying for meters that are not always accurate. Not too complicated for the average person to understand but impossible for our state and federal government to fix.
