This afternoon, on the road to Westerdale, Hob Holes' ford was quite deep after all the rain. The bracken is just turning and the leaves are just starting to fall, it seems this part of the moors is sheltered in a valley and is very green against the rest of the moor.

Thank you for all your comments and favs all are much appreciated.

I've never seen it too deep but there again it's not somewhere you would visit if the weather was bad as all the roads are steep. The water was reasonably deep enough to get your feet wet but in summer it's mostly dry. As the post shows if we got flood it could get quite high!
@leananiemand
You wouldn't believe how many bikes are using the moors lately, we have seen an upsurge in cycling this year because of the Tour de France passing through this area. I fact it was a toss up wether I used this photo or another with a cyclist going through the ford!
