This lovely old glasshouse was rescued and rebuilt when the gardens of Heligan were rediscovered after being abandoned for over 70 years. After WW1 all but a few of the gardeners who had worked there did not return and the owner had lost heart and closed the property up....and there it sat both decaying and growing........it is now one of the most popular attractions in Cornwall and we are lucky to live very close and have a 'locals pass' and can visit whenever want (subject to current restrictions of course).....
Beautiful carpet-like pathway with lovely patterns. Looks like the glasshouse is for cacti. All of them can be seen in the open, possibly growing wild, here.
@sangwann They move most of their cacti indoors over the winter .....I guess they will move them all outside again once the threat of frost has passed .
