Zebra Longwing by danette

Zebra Longwing

Beautiful morning in the garden. Sky is pretty, bees are abuzz (until my dog ate it!), nice lighting. Glad to get out for a few moments.
Lovely composition...the flower set up is different and cool. Makes it look like the body of the butterfly!

@lynnb Thanks, Lynn! At one with the flower! They flit around so quickly, I didn't want to disturb him and chase him away.

Beautiful shot. What kind of plant is it ? Gorgeous butterfly with it's round wings.

@bardejov Somehow I forgot to mention the plant. It's a Porterweed. Thanks for your comments!

@marlboromaam it's the Fla State butterfly. Thanks for your comments, Maggie!

This is so lovely, Danette. The colors of the flowers, and the butterfly - awesome! And... your dog ate a bee?

@ariel817 Thanks, Linda!! I was following the bee with my camera, when I saw this movement and a "snap snap". The bee was in her mouth, but certainly no longer a threat. I found it on the ground. Our last dog used to chase bees, too. I think she got stung once. Awww.

It seems risky to eat bees, yes! Haha that's funny, though.
