A butterfly got trapped in my screened porch. Before I rescued him, I had to take his photo. He was all closed up like a leaf. My actions attracted my dog to check it all out. Good thing she was on the other side of the screen!
This butterfly is a new visitor to my yard. I can't even find out what it is. Anyone know? It really did look like a dried leaf when closed.
So glad you could save it....this looks like a Ruddy Daggerwing (according to my book). "Found in southern Florida and southward to the Caribbean and S America. Rare in Southern Texas and southeastern Arizona, strays occasionally to Nebraska!" If you are in northern Florida....it must have been blown of course by Sandy or something!
