We are staying just about a block from the infamous Bourbon Street. Thankfully, it was a Monday night during September, which should be a slow time. We went for dinner, then walked around. A group of young men were playing jazz just outside the restaurant. They were really good! We walked around for an hour or so and had such a great time. While there are definitely raunchy establishments, there is also good music to be found everywhere. Often, the groups will play near open windows, so you can watch and listen from outside. I liked this photo because of the reflections of all the neon lights in the window.
I honestly never had any intention of being out on Bourbon Street at night, but I would encourage everyone to do so...just pick a time other than Mardi Gras!
Great shot! Definitely captures bourbon street entertainment and the jazz vibe. I've only been a couple times but really want to go back now that I wouldn't be going just for bourbon street!
Danette, I was looking to see what other photos were tagged New-Orleans and this one showed up -- what a GREAT capture! It was so cold there the last few days that even Bourbon St was mostly quiet with so many restaurants and bars closed.
@jyokota Thank you SO MUCH! As wild as it is, there are many photo oops. I've missed some photos lately. I hope you had a grand time, in spite of the cold.
